    Welcome to Mechanic Nearby, a platform that connects drivers with verified professional mechanics for automotive assistance. By using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

    Mechanic Nearby serves as a marketplace to facilitate connections between drivers seeking automotive assistance and qualified mechanics. Your use of our platform constitutes acceptance of these terms.

    2. Eligibility

    Age Requirement

    You must be at least 18 years old to use our platform.

    Mechanic Verification

    Mechanic verification is handled through Stripe Connect, our payment processing partner. No additional ID requirements are imposed by Mechanic Nearby beyond Stripe's verification process.

    3. Mechanic Obligations

    • •Provide accurate information about your skills, pricing, and availability.
    • •Maintain full responsibility for the quality and safety of services provided.
    • •Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
    • •Maintain appropriate licenses, insurance, and certifications as required by law.

    4. Driver Obligations

    Accurate Information

    Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of your vehicle issues to ensure mechanics can properly assess and prepare for the service.

    ⚠️ Presence Rule - Important

    You (the driver) or a designated person must be present at the agreed location when the mechanic arrives. Failure to meet this requirement may still result in charges for the mechanic's time and travel, even if no service is performed.

    5. Platform Role & Limitations

    Important Disclaimer

    Mechanic Nearby operates as a marketplace only and is not the service provider. We facilitate connections between drivers and mechanics but do not perform automotive services.

    • •All services are provided "as-is" with no guarantees or warranties.
    • •Users interact with each other directly; we are not party to service agreements.

    6. Payments

    Payment Processing

    All payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.

    Platform Fee

    Mechanic Nearby charges an 8% platform fee on completed services.

    Payout Options

    • • Same-day payouts available (additional fee applies)
    • • Weekly default payouts at no extra charge

    Refund Policy

    Partial refunds are available only if a job is not accepted by a mechanic. Platform fees and Stripe processing fees are non-refundable in all circumstances.

    7. Cancellations & Disputes

    Cancellation Rules

    Driver Cancellations: May be subject to cancellation fees depending on timing and mechanic preparation.

    Mechanic Cancellations: Must provide reasonable notice when possible. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.

    Dispute Resolution

    8. Prohibited Conduct

    The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

    9. Safety Features & Guidelines

    Our platform includes an emergency SOS feature. Use this button only for genuine emergencies. Misuse of emergency features may result in account suspension.

    🌙 Night Safety Guidelines

    • • Meet in well-lit, public locations when possible
    • • Inform someone of your location and expected service time
    • • Trust your instincts - if something feels unsafe, use the SOS button
    • • Consider rescheduling non-urgent repairs to daylight hours

    10. Privacy & Data Protection

    Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

    Location data is collected to facilitate service connections and for safety features. Payment information is processed securely through Stripe and is not stored on our servers.

    11. Account Termination

    We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, fraudulent activity, or behavior that threatens the safety and integrity of our platform.

    Users may delete their accounts at any time through the app settings. Account deletion does not affect completed transactions or outstanding obligations.

    12. Changes to Terms

    We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
